The Medical Reserve Corp, (MRC) volunteers are health care professionals and non clinical individuals that assist in activities that promote and strengthen public health, emergency response and community resiliency. Volunteer duties might include: participate in mass vaccinations (such as in the case with the HINI virus), emergency response in local disasters, participate in mock drills, education outreach, and more. Who should volunteer? Student Health professionals, social workers, physical therapists, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, emt professionals, non medical community members, interpreters, mental health professionals, etc.
Under the direction and guidance from the Walworth County Public Health and Emergency Management, volunteers wil be asked to sign up with the Wisconsin Emergency Assistance Volunteer Registry. WEAVR is a web-based online registration system for Wisconsin's health professional volunteers willing to serve in an emergency. WEAVR is developed to facilitate health and medical response through identification, credentialing and deployment of volunteers.
