River of Revolutions Interpretive Center

Help us further cultivate education, tourism, and recreation in the region!

Docents will oversee the River of Revolutions Interpretive Center on Saturdays during the hours of 9:00A.M.to 2:00P.M. Docents will be responsible for one three-hour shift each month from May-Sept.

Docents will engage trail users and visitors in Riverfront Park and encourage them to explore the River of Revolutions Interpretive Center and the Pottstown RiverWalk. They will provide information to the public and answer any questions about the history of the heritage area and/or Schuylkill River Trail. In addition, docents will also be responsible for operating the Bike Pottstown bike share program at the Schuylkill River Heritage Area (SRHA) facility.

The Schuylkill River Greenway Association is the designated management organization for the Schuylkill River National & State Heritage Area. The mission of the heritage area is: To conserve, interpret and develop the historical, cultural, natural and recreational resources related to the industrial and cultural heritage of the Schuylkill River Valley.

Description

The Schuylkill River Greenway Association operates out of Pottstown, Pennsylvania but manages the heritage area, which include the five counties of the Schuylkill River Valley - Berks, Chester, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Schuylkill. The Greenway Association is driven by their Vision Statement: We envision a Schuylkill River region fully revitalized and restored: A region whose citizens understand, value and are fully committed to preserving and sustaining their cultural heritage and natural environment for future generations.
