Looking to make a difference in the community with an agency where volunteers are queens? Then look no further WTC offers a community like friendly environment where volunteers make the supreme difference. WTC has been serving the Bay Area community for over 30 years and we need you to help keep our presence strong.

WTC is seeking volunteers that would be interested in providing any of the following volunteer services: Gardening, Office Support, Assisting with Events and Fund-raising, Researching for grants, Community Outreach, Working with Social Media, Writing articles for Women & Girls and/or Couples, Assisting with newsletters.

Mission Statement

Women's Therapy Center's (WTC) mission is to strengthen families and communities through affordable therapy for multi-cultural, sexually diverse women, adolescent girls and couples. To provide comprehensive training in relational psychotherapy, which encourages viewing people within their social context and affords clients an experience of respect, acceptance and empathy. To ensure that length of treatment is determined by client and therapist without regard to any institutionally imposed time limits.

Description

WTC was orginally conceived by two female Berkeley clinicians in 1979, specifically to create a training site that offered an alternative to existing models of psychotherapy. WTC offers a two year relational therapy training program and an Advance Therapy Program both integrate feminist and egalitarian ideals with sound clinical theory and technique. The therapist receive exceptional relational therapy training in exchange for services to the community. The agency is commited to being racially diverse and providing multi-culturally competent services.
