Building Skills Partnership (www.buildingskills.org) is looking for VITA Volunteers to give back to their community. The VITA volunteer will virtually assist frontline janitorial workers complete their taxes via computer. If preparing taxes is not your thing, you can also help us by making appointments, or doing quality review. The VITA volunteer must pass the VITA exam and be willing to volunteer up until the end of Tax Season: April 20, 2021. Training of Basic Tax exam through the IRS Certification and Financial Capability Services will be provided.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare for the VITA Test. (Materials will be provided)
- Be willing to volunteer 2 days out of the week.
- Be meticulous when assisting with taxes.
- Volunteer until April 20, 2021.
- Pass the VITA test.
Job Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
- Flexibility, strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated an ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds.
- Have a personal computer/laptop and secure internet service.

The Building Skills Partnership (BSP) represents a unique non-profit collaboration between the property service workers’ union Service Employees International Union - United Service Workers West (SEIU- USWW), commercial building owners, property service employers, client companies and community leaders. BSP offers comprehensive programs tailored to the diverse needs of the community. Our core strategies leverage workforce development, immigrant integration, and community advancement. We have seven offices across the state of California from Sacramento to San Diego. Building Skills Partnership program areas and its curriculum play a key role in driving the productivity and competitiveness of the industry and contributing to the economic and social development of our communities throughout the state.
