Docent posing with a group of students at the top of the hill.

A thriving community of Native Americans populated Poway long before the Spanish arrived. The evidence of their lives and work can be seen today at the Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center. By volunteering as a docent here you will be leading an educational tour of this archaeological site where your group will see artifacts, 'ewaas, and grinding holes. Tours are offered for elementary schools, community groups and the general public. Training is free and self-paced.
