Our volunteers are all over the age of 50 and help students in grades K-3 gain the reading skills needed to succeed in school. No previous teaching or classroom experience is required as we provide all volunteers with the background and training needed to succeed.
In San Mateo County we serve schools in Daly City, South San Francisco, and Atherton.

Today, more than 2,000 Corps volunteers serve as tutors and mentors in urban public schools, teaching children to read and develop the confidence to succeed in school and in life.
