Veteran's History Project Interviewer
6 people are interested
Are you a history buff? Are you a 'people person' who enjoys the art of conversation? Do you have interview skills? The Burleson Public Library is a participant in the Veteran's History Project where we honor veterans by preserving stories of their service to our country. We encourage veterans attending City veteran events and veterans who purchase veteran bricks who maybe willing to be interviewed about their service while being video taped.
We are seeking a volunteer to conduct these interviews who has a military background and/or extensive knowledge of military service. We are also seeking a volunteer to operate the video equipment for the interviews. The Burleson Public Library provides the video equipment and the conference room at the Library where the interviews take place.
Three DVD's are made of the interview. One is given to the veteran, one is catalogued in the Library, one is sent to the Library of Congress for preservation, a digital copy is uploaded to the Operation Remember You Tube Channel and also to the Operation Remember Kiosk for viewing at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Burleson, TX. All of these steps are done by staff. We are only seeking a volunteer to conduct the interviews and complete the provided forms.
It is very important to preserve the stories of those who have given so much to protect our country. We will provide ample training and guidance along with scheduling interviews. You can read more about the project here:
