On this day we need 75 runners to assist families getting their toys, about 10 ushers to help with traffic control, prayer warriors to minister to the families while they wait in line, and carolers to provide a festive atmosphere. This year, 75 families will come every hour. There will be a gathering time for them with a presentation of the Christmas story.
Distribution should be over by 3:00, followed by clean-up time. Many hands make light work, but if you are unable to stay the whole day, please don't let that stop you!

Mission Statement
The mission of The Salvation Army is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
The Salvation Army of Galveston County provides a transitional residential program in Galveston that seeks to restore and rebuild lives in Galveston by providing temporary shelter, case management and education services, and tools for securing employment. At the end of their stay, it is our desire that each one who participates leaves with employment, housing and the tools to maintain both. In addition, emergency rent, utility and food assistance is offered to Galveston County residents. Church services are offered on Galveston Island and in Texas City on Sunday mornings for anyone in the community.
