Give kids and their families who are living in low-income housing the gift of community and connection, and enjoy the satisfaction of encouraging healthy interactions and strengthening bonds. Enhance our monthly Community Night by assisting with activities for children of all ages and engaging parents. December community nights will have a holiday theme and may include activities such as gingerbread cookie decorating, hot chocolate, and wrapping presents.

We welcome donations to make these evenings extra special and help us keep costs low. Let us know if you’d like to bring something so we can adjust our shopping list!

  • Sugar cookies (for decorating)
  • Graham Crackers
  • Decorating supplies (frosting, sprinkles, candies, etc.)
  • Wrapping paper
  • Tape/gift tags
  • Refreshments for the evening - hot cocoa, marshmallows, cider, popcorn, other snacks.

**Youth Prevention Serivces provides an effective drug and alcohol prevention program that brings youth and adults in the community together through positive and healthy interactions. Our program builds family and community support by providing fun and healthy activities that encourage a healthy living environment. Your participation is vital to engaging parents in opportunities to build relationships with neighbors during our monthly community nights.**

Since 1896, Volunteers of America Oregon has worked to change lives by promoting self-determination and building strong communities. Today, through the dedication of over 300 staff members and more than 1000 volunteers, we help thousands of families in the greater Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington areas. We serve men, woman and children with a continuum of services, touching individuals from all walks of life, from the youngest to the oldest.
