SUMMARY:
ServiceWorks is unique in that it is a volunteer-driven program that works towards teaching Service Scholars (youth), ages 16-24, transferable college and workplace skills that they gain through the planning and implementation of community service projects. This program is led by VISTA AmeriCorps members that have dedicated a year of service to implementing the ServiceWorks program at YPI. A critical component of the program is bringing in community volunteers to help teach these skills to the youth enrolled in the program. YPI is seeking volunteer Success Coaches (Mentors) that will work one-on-one or in small groups with youth to set goals, create individual work plan, and connect them to education and employment opportunities. An interactive set of activities is used as a basis for constructive positive coaching conversations.
