DC Stop Modern Slavery (DC SMS) is an all-volunteer non-profit located in Washington, D.C. We are a dynamic group of individuals united by our desire to combat human trafficking. We do this by educating the community and raising awareness.

DC SMS is proud to offer the position of Communications Director to a qualified applicant interested in making an impact in combating human trafficking. The Communications Director serves as a member of the DC SMS Leadership Team and manages the Communications Team. This team oversees the website, newletter, social media, blogs and media outreach.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the movement against trafficking in persons and posess outstanding writing skills. Excellent organizational skills, fluency with Wordpress and various social media platforms is highly desired. The ability to effectively communicate with and engage your team in essential.

Stop Modern Slavery is an all-volunteer organization so dedication to the team and reliability are paramount. The minimum time commitment is 5-10 hours per month. the position is quite fitting for those who are looking to volunteer their time during evenings and weekends.
