Foster Parents/Families - Provide a temporary, loving home for a rescued dog until he or she is adopted. When a dog is rescued from the stressful and often chaotic environment of a shelter, a caring and stable foster home provides not only basic care and love, but reassurance of a brighter future. Foster families make an immediate and lasting difference in the life of a shelter dog. This is the ultimate gift to a dog in need and saves two lives- the dog you foster and the dog that gets to have their spot in their shelter instead of being euthanized.

Mission Statement

Founded in 2011, Triangle Pets Alive (TPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina. TPA is a no-kill, foster-based rescue committed to saving the lives of dogs in danger of being euthanized at North Carolina shelters.

Description

Rescue is our mission, and although we rescue all breeds, hounds are our calling. Every year around hunting season, lost and abandoned hounds flood shelters across NC. Sadly, these loving dogs are often surrendered or left unclaimed, and many are eventually euthanized. Hounds are highly sensitive dogs that can be incredible family companions given the chance, but their value as pets is often overlooked because of their reputation as sporting dogs. They are largely unprotected by state animal welfare laws, and many are neglected as a result.

At TPA!, we believe in strength through community, and our entire rescue family is working tirelessly to highlight the hound's merit as a worthy family companion. We will get there, one lovable rescued hound at a time - but we need your support! Triangle Pets Alive! depends on community support to rescue healthy and treatable shelter dogs.
