Kids get homework help at RYAC
We can help sharpen academic skills

Work 1 hour a week, or more, to create a safe after-school environment for middle school through high school youth. Work with "peer volunteer" support from our fabulous Lindbergh High volunteers. You can mentor, help with homework, bring a drama or music program to the center, provide art lessons or crafting, provide reading or other tutoring, work on sports skills, or just "hang out",

Your volunteering helps youth achieve academic success, encourages essential team skills and creates bonds between young people and their community members. We focus primarily on middle and high school age youth. In particular, middle school aged youth who are often left to fend for themselves after school and may have little or no structure at home. Over time we will create an environment that is an invaluable resource for young people, aspiring mentors and the community at large.

Mission Statement

Empowering young adults to make positive choices in their lives and in their community.

Description

WE ARE a nonprofit agency providing young adults in the Renton area a safe place after school to learn essential life skills through activities, mentoring, homework assistance and counseling.

WE ARE a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school or are facing barriers out of their control.

OUR GOAL is to offer a positive support system and give young people skills that will enable them to avoid the pitfalls that can derail them. The focus is slightly different at each age but the goal remains the same; empower the person to make positive changes in his or her life. We focus primarily on middle and high school age youth.
