The Alameda County Social Services Agency (SSA) needs volunteers to help provide no-cost IRS certified tax preparation assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers. Since 2002, SSA Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) preparers have helped taxpayers to receive larger tax refunds by claiming the credits they have earned. Be a part of dynamic team that thrives on serving the community!

No prior tax preparation experience is needed - we will give you the training to become IRS-certified!

Training sessions are offered November through mid-January. Each session is 3 full days (Tuesday through Thursdays, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm). Sessions are filling up fast!
Register online: https://public.alamedasocialservices.org/VITA/home

The VITA program will operate Jan. 22 - April 15, 2020 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 - 8:30 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

There are 4 different sites that volunteers can choose from: Thomas L Berkley (2000 San Pablo Ave, Oakland), Enterprise Office (8477 Enterprise Way, Oakland), Office of Supervisor Wilma Chan (15903 Hesperian Blvd, San Lorenzo), and Eden Multi-Service Center (24100 Amador St, Hayward).
