ESL Classroom Assistant

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Platte Valley Literacy Association

As a volunteer classroom assistant, you will assist a classroom teacher with meeting the needs of adult ESL students. We offer English classes of varying levels of difficulty, from beginning to advanced. As a classroom assistant, you should expect to answer student questions, work with small groups, monitor students, help students practice conversation skills, and assist with administrative tasks. Your role ultimately supports the instructor to make each class increasingly effective by providing more individualized student interaction. Our program has morning and evening class opportunities available. Each class level meets twice a week. Volunteer classroom assistants must communicate well with the class instructor, who will make lesson plans around the classroom assistant's availability.
