Our small childhood cancer foundation needs a little push, and we believe it's time to organize our first fundraising event. We have been to a few over the last year and we have some great ideas, but no time to put them in place. We are looking for dedicated people who can help us put one (or more) fundraiser together. Ideally we start in Massachusetts, where we are based, but we are open to events anywhere else too.
For now, we are thinking small events of around 50 people, probably a dinner event with prizes, auctions, raffles, etc.
Share your ideas with us, we'll share ours with you and let's see if we can make it happen together. It will be GREAT!

Mission Statement
We raise funds to support pediatric cancer research programs, and we aim to improve the quality of life of pediatric cancer patients. At One Child One Smile Foundation we believe that a lot more resources should be invested on childhood cancer, not only by supporting research and development of more effective and less aggressive treatments specifically made for children, but also by improving their quality of live during and after the harsh treatment they have to go through.
Description
At the moment our main fundraising program is our lovely family of Chubby Cheeks dolls. Our boys and girls are extremely good quality dolls practically handcrafted in the 7000-people town of Onil in Spain, a community that has lived for and from the toy industry for generations. In Spain it is affectionately called Toytown. Chubby Cheeks are, in that sense, a double-charity item as they help us raise money for our pediatric cancer causes in the United States, but they also support a wonderful community of toy makers that are struggling because most of the world's toy production has been relocated to countries where factories are almost like prisons.
We have organized several sales events at different locations around Boston. Since we are a start-up organization, we are working on extending our sales channels, but for the time being we remain local and we, the funders, personally attend and host all the events we organize. At these events we also collect voluntary donations and very proudly witness people’s generosity and involvement. It’s been a life changing experience, but we are still a small organization and we have little resources and workforce for everything that needs to be done.
Through our collaboration with VolunteerMatch, we intend to strengthen our capabilities and make One Child One Smile a successful non-profit helping a lot of American kids survive cancer and enjoy their lives like they deserve.
