During these uncertain times, how can we help?

YOU can make difference in the life of a child!
Do you love children? Are you available for one shift each month (either 5 hours or a 10 hour overnight)? Then this might just be the opportunity you are looking for.
Since 2010, Hand in Hand has served children who have been removed from their primary caregivers due to abuse, neglect or other reasons in our 24 hour emergency shelter. Safe Place, provides a safe landing for these precious children who are afraid, confused and might otherwise be separated from siblings due to the shortage of foster homes in Snohomish County.
During their stay (up to 72 hours excluding weekends and holidays), our Safe Place Care Coordinators are a critical part to providing safety and security by caring, safe adults. As an advocate, you will help facilitate health screenings, resource kids with clothes, shoes and other needed personal items and have fun while going on field trips, playing games or creating art/craft projects.
Want more information? We'd love to talk to you about this amazing, life-changing opportunity (for you and the kids we serve).

At its very core, Hand in Hand’s vision is to provide a platform for cohesive, comprehensive child-centric services that benefit every type of family. Whether that is kinship, guardianship, foster care, third party custody, grand families, birth families or adoptees. The end goal? To create and support harmonious, positive and prosperous family environments where children can flourish.
In 2010, Hand in Hand was born from a group of foster parents, social workers and child advocates seeking to make positive, systemic changes in how children enter and are cared for in the foster system.
Today, Hand in Hand supports children and families in crisis through the foundational Christian teachings of respect, unconditional love, and compassion. We exist to foster hope and opportunity for children and families in crisis by providing services focused on protection, provision and permanence. This is our purpose.
Our purpose manifests every day in so many ways. Our new Safe Place shelter is a freestanding home that will provide not only emergency 72-hour shelter, but eventually up to 30-day extended care for children awaiting a more permanent environment. We are looking for more volunteers so the shelter can be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
We'll work with your schedule.
