Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (Several Positions Available!)
The Neighborhood Developers
The Neighborhood Developers provides free tax preparation as a VITA site for low-to-moderate income clients. Through the hard work and dedication of our team of volunteers, TND served over 1,000 households in 2016. Our clients received refunds totaling over $2.12 million! On average, the amount received through refunds makes up about 9% of our clients' annual income. We prioritize bilingual applicants who are fluent in Spanish and English.
We are looking for dedicated individuals to fill various positions available for the 2020 tax season (late January to mid-April):
- Certified Tax Preparer
- Intake Specialist/scheduler
- Quality Reviewer
No experience is necessary - all virtual training will be provided. VITA is a great opportunity to meet a lot of people, learn a new skill, and make sure community members are able to access free, quality financial services. Volunteer opportunities are available during the day, evenings, and weekends from Jan - April in Chelsea & Revere. We ask that people commit to minimum of 4 hours of volunteering per week.

Engaging Community: Through our community building activities, we create strong connections among neighbors, foster a positive neighborhood identity and build social capital linking residents and community institutions to foster a vibrant sense of community life.
Building Housing: CND and our partners develop quality affordable apartments and homes for mixed- income households through the purchase of existing substandard properties and former industrial sites.
Revitalizing Neighborhoods: CND seeks to engage residents in determining neighborhood changes through neighborhood planning to transform under utilized commercial sites and problematic residential neighborhoods into healthy neighborhoods.
