It is as easy as showing your new Little Brother or Little Sister your favorite computer game or best soccer move. We’ve learned that being someone important to a kid doesn’t take much more than that. But the impact is huge-for both of you!
Why get involved?
It’s simple. It’s fun. Be a kid again yourself for an hour a week-and join the millions of volunteers who say, "I get back so much more than I give."
How does it work?
You won’t be in it alone. A professional from Big Brothers Big Sisters will match you with a child with similar interests and give support as you need it. You’ll meet regularly with your "Little" at a Baker Middle School for one hour per week. (Community-based is also available.)
It’s easier than you think.
You don’t need experience or special training, money or a degree-you just need to be yourself and have fun. Once you’re in, you’ll spend time with your Little on a regular basis. It’s as simple as that.
You know you really like to play board games, talk about sports and go to recess-so what are you waiting for? Sign up with Big Brothers Big Sisters today.

Mission Statement
The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better.
Description
For more than 100 years nationally and 50 locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), ages 7 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people .
