The Center for Independence is a 501-C3 non-profit that serves as a professional peer resource for anyone in the community who has a disability.
We are looking for board members who have some board experience and fit a diverse demographic background; race, gender, ethnicity, etc. Our board is comprised of individuals where 51% have a disability.
Experience in fund raising or other philanthropic experience would benefit our organization immensely.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Independence is to serve as a resource organization for individuals with disabilities, seniors who have age-related impairments, family members, disability professionals and many other disability supporters such as Personal Assistants. Together we assist people with disabilities to expand opportunities to more fully participate in their community through outreach, advocacy and independent living skills development.
