Provide a temporary home for Adams County Animal Shelter's neediest pets! Fostering is a flexible, family-friendly volunteer opportunity that can make a huge impact. Animals that need foster care include:
- Puppies and kittens
- Senior pets
- Animals recovering from a medical procedure
- Animals experiencing stress in the shelter environment
- Animals that need additional socialization or training
- Small mammals, birds, and reptiles
All supplies and medical treatment for foster animals are provided by Adams County Animal Shelter. Foster families provide a safe environment, daily care and socialization, and lots of love. Foster parents must also provide transportation for their foster pets to and from the shelter for medical treatment and adoption. Save a life-foster a pet!

Through enforcement of state statutes and county ordinances, we serve and protect the pets and the people of Adams County.
Description
The shelter serves as a community center for adoptions, animal control, and lost and found. We provide care and shelter for thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals each year.
