POSITION DESCRIPTION: The JDRF Seattle Signature Events team is responsible for the cultivation and production of the annual Dream Gala which attracts over 900 guests each year, grossing $65 million dollars for T1D research since it’s inception in 1989. In this position, you will work closely with the Development Manager to support the procurement process for the live and silent auctions.


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) and social media
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required, public speaking experience is a plus
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Creative thinker with the ability to work independently


  • Interest in type 1 diabetes, public health, community outreach, event planning, non-profit administration
  • Experience with non-profit management, marketing, and database management
  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate on projects and pitch in when needed
  • Desire to work and learn about non-profit special events and community outreach


  • Provide administrative support to the Signature Events team
  • Research and apply for auction items
  • Assist with the coordination & data entry of items into event software
  • Assist with marketing tasks: website, social media, and mailings
  • General office administrative projects as needed


  • Time commitment: At least 5 months, minimum 6 hours a week
  • JDRF Office hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm


  • College credit as permitted by the governing institution.
  • Gain work experience in a non-profit setting
  • Build and improve communication and administrative skills.
  • Learn how to research grants, plan events, connect with the community
