ORGANIZATION: Communities In Schools of Tacoma

Communities in Schools of Tacoma is looking for dedicated volunteers to provide homework help at Baker Middle School. Many of our students are struggling to complete their homework on time and are in need of extra academic assistance. Volunteers are paired with single or small groups of students to help with math, science, literature, or writing homework.

After-school Homework Help sessions take place at Baker Middle school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 - 3:45 PM. Volunteer and help make a difference in a child’s education!

Communities In Schools is part of the 5th largest youth development organization in the country. We are the only ones proven to increase graduation rates AND decrease dropout rates.

We serve as the bridge between the student and the community, bringing in resources that help break down the barriers that students have to be successful in school.
