Health Mentors will provide support to refugee families recently resettled in Denver. Volunteers will guide refugees learning to navigate the U.S. healthcare system, mentor refugees in developing healthy habits as they adjust to life in the U.S., and help families access health resources. Mentors may visit local clinics and pharmacies with families, help manage medications, teach health-specific English words, encourage healthy eating and physical activity, and help refugees manage stress by practicing self-care. Additional duties as assigned.Training provided.
