If you have CAD / database expereince and Virtual Work would be your preference, we need your help!

The ad hoc method of telework has been great for employees but as it expands, it becomes unsustainable without an organizational structure; as more companies realize that it is not linked to their business objectives, they are discontinuing the practice. As a community-focused non-profit, Tele-Commuter Resources realizes that if we want to have a more strategic approach, we must demonstrate real operational and fiscal benefiits for the employer. Having developed a community development strategy based upon virtualization; a pre-requisite is broadening the application of strategic telework.

Our Workforce Virtualization Program is uniquely comprehensive and includes a powerful facility "Right-Sizing" component. What we need is the ability to display a generalized isometric of a building with the various areas identified. The goal is to link the display to various tables so we can assign people to specific space types, locate/display open space types, auto-design areas based upon the types of spaces designated for the space and optimize space location based upon various criteria.

Since this will be installed in numerous client sites, the tools you use should be freeware or something that employers might already have or that can be licensed easily. The database we are using is MSAccess cuurently but will migrate to a more powerful system, most likely SQL.

Hopefully this will be a rewarding and challlenging project for the right person. Specifications will be developed with you as we are not certain of all that can be done. We do have a mock-up/write up that should get the discussion started.

Thanks for your interest and support

Mission Statement

Building Stronger Communities through Telecommuting

Description

Telecommuting mitigates travel and therefore mitigates the impact of spatial separation. If you provide a Suite of Telecommuting Services that supports your activities electronically you can live anywhere while simultaneously putting people back into our neighborhoods and small towns.

Teleworkers seek social interaction- if they don't get it during the work process they will engage in church, school and other community activities after work. This is a great opportunity for our non-profit community to capitalize on!

Employers that employ STRATEGIC telework become more profitable, reduce facilities (and their emissions) and reduces trips (reducing accidents, energy consumption and emission release).

Telework begins the paradigm shift and moves us closer to the Information Age. In many policy and operational arenas we remain locked in the Industrial mindset.

Tele-Commuter Resources has developed the Distributed City Model that discusses the evolution from our politically defined urban regions to an integrated urban-rural economic service area. At the core is telework. We have built tools and strategies for employer based deployment of telework that aggregate into a regional deployment plan.

Though we are still striving to prove the theories and the value of our tools, there is no question that our direction is right and our hoped for results are inevitable.
