Hey!
The 4th graders at Boze Elementary School are exploring the idea of robots being used to deliver food, water, and/or medicine to unsafe areas after a natural disaster occurs. We have a small Maker Space at our school which is run by our computer teacher and librarian. Each fourth grade class goes to a Maker Space once a week for 50 minutes from now until the end of the school year to learn about engineering, robotics, and how both can help after a natural disaster has happened. The goal will be for each student group in each class to design a robot that can move from one side of the room to the other carrying water, food, and/or medicine to its destination. Here's where you come in! We would love to find a volunteer who is familiar with robotics that can commit to 50 minutes once a week to help design their robots. We have some used/donated robotic kits, but most of the materials will have to be found in a creative way!
Our classes will be:
Wednesdays from 9:50am-10:40am
Thursdays from 12:10pm-1:00pm Fridays from 12:10pm-1:00pm I would be happy to answer any and all questions. In addition, any co-workers that could join you, would be a huge plus as these kids will appreciate as much expertise as they can get!
