Assist with the Denver Scholarship Foundation's (DSF) College Access Services Team in its programming and services, along with partnerships with Denver Public Schools (DPS) to ensure DPS seniors will have the academic, financial and social support they need to enroll in a technical college or traditional university.

MISSION: The Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) inspires and empowers Denver Public School (DPS) students to enroll in and graduate from postsecondary institutions of higher education by providing the tools, knowledge and financial resources essential for success.
VISION: DSF will be a leader in providing all Denver youth the opportunity to attend and graduate college. DSF will be a catalyst to bring together DPS schools, Colorado postsecondary institutions, and other college access providers to create the best conditions for Denver students to succeed. DSF will engage the entire Denver region to assure that every Denver student has the resources to realize their full potential.
TITLE OF POSITION: College Access Services Intern (unpaid, though arrangements can be made to receive credit for a graduate or undergraduate student)
SUPERVISED BY: Director of College Access Services
PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the DSF College Access Services team in its programming and services, along with partnerships with DPS, college access programs and colleges, to ensure that DPS seniors will have the academic, financial and social support to enroll in college.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-Attend a DSF Volunteer Orientation
-Assist with creating communications for our College Access Team of 18 College Advisors
-Assist with miscellaneous projects as assigned by College Access Services Team
-Data entry
-Assist with development of College Access collateral and program documents
-Other duties as assigned
COMMITMENT REQUIRED: Begin January 2017 and ending May 2017. Minimum 8 hours per week. Flexible schedule available Monday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; advanced computer skills, website development knowledge, and social media knowledge a plus
-Undergraduate or graduate-level work in education, social work, counseling or a related field
-Confident in writing and editing documents and collateral materials
-Able to work independently with guidance from a supervisor
-Reliable, responsible and punctual
-Good organizational and communication skills, patience and attention to detail
-Background check required
ORIENTATION AND TRAINING PROVIDED: Volunteer Orientations are held monthly and are required as an overview and first step for DSF Volunteers and Interns. Task-specific training will be provided.

The Denver Scholarship Foundation was created in 2006 by private donors and community leaders to help Denver Public School students achieve their educational goals by providing students with guidance and financial support.
In addition to providing scholarships to Denver Public Schools graduates, the Denver Scholarship Foundation provides postsecondary guidance and resources through Future Centers and College and Financial Aid Advisors within DPS high schools.
