Home Construction Partners is an opportunity for volunteers to:
- Learn everything there is to know about building an energy efficient house through Community Home Builders
- Work alongside our homeowners on a schedule that works for you, or on Saturday mornings with the volunteer coordinator
- Understand better how our Mutual Self-Help Program provides affordable housing, builds skills and creates equity in Yamhill County for low-income families.
Volunteers of all experience and ability levels are welcome and are central to the success of this initiative. Volunteers with experience in painting, carpentry, construction, landscaping etc will be able to do more initially with less instruction and supervision, so if you know someone who has experience in these areas that wants to volunteer, please refer them to us, but limited or no experience in these areas will not prevent a volunteer from contributing!

Mission Statement
To build quality affordable housing, develop ownership, create equity and foster skills for low and moderate income families and individuals while helping rural Oregon communities thrive by working in collaboration with public and private partners.
Description
Community Home Builders is a Non-profit located in McMinnville, Oregon. We are focussed on serving rural communities. For the past 25 years we have developed equity, skills and home-ownership opportunities for low-moderate income families and individuals through the use of financial savings and development programs, and our mutual self-help home ownership program. Through our mutual self-help program, families work with us and a cohort of 5-12 families to build one anothers houses. At the end of the process they have affordable, high quality, energy-efficient homes and a stable place to live. We firmly believe in the benefits that home ownership can bring including improved academic and occupational performance as well as civic engagement. We love the communities we serve and are excited for for what lies ahead!
