Volunteers Needed for the American Cancer Society
2017-2018 Relay For Life of Naugatuck Valley to Help Save Lives
The American Cancer Society Relay of Life of Naugatuck Valley is seeking local volunteers that are passionate, energetic, movers and shakers to become a part of our Event Leadership Team! This team plans and executes the Relay For Life of Naugatuck Valley.
From event logistics, recruiting teams to join us on the track, marketing the event, planning our cancer survivor reception, creating and facilitating event ceremonies, scheduling entertainment and activities - these are just a few of the many opportunities and responsibilities taken on by our team of dedicated volunteers aimed at eliminating cancer once and for all!
It only takes a LITTLE time and a BIG heart! Being on the Event Leadership team includes...
- Luminaria prior to and the day of Relay
- Entertainment coordination prior to and the day of Relay
- Community Outreach prior to and the day of Relay
- Including Youth Outreach
- Marketing and PR prior to and the day of Relay
- Day of Volunteers
- Set-up
- Clean-up
- Assistance in running activities and helping with logistics day of Relay
Volunteers are the backbone of this movement, and you can be part of it right here in Naugatuck Valley. The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to save lives from cancer. Uniting communities across the globe, we celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease today, and fund cancer research that will help protect future generations. During Relay For Life events, members of each team take turns walking or running around the track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
