About

The Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting the visual arts and culture in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking volunteer grant writers to identify and apply for prospective grants.

Only candidates who can commit to fulfilling at minimum one complete grant application on behalf of our organization should apply.

After the initial interview and screening, candidates will be expected to report regularly on their progress with the Director of Development and/or Executive Director.

Interested parties must be experienced with the grant writing process, and should provide a resume, and writing samples. Applicants must have superior writing skills, time in their schedule to complete at least one grant application from start to finish, and the willingness to communicate and collaborate with other individuals on our team who may be working on parallel projects or applications. After the initial interview and screening, all work may be completed off-site, as long as regular communication is maintained.

Grants are extremely vital to nonprofits like ours, and we ask that interested candidates focus solely on this task, without any expectation that they will be involved in other aspects of the Art Walk. The ability to follow-through, and to independently complete the grant application in a reasonable amount of time is crucial to this role.

This is a volunteer position, however some stipends may become available depending on the results of the grant.

Please note that the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk does not have any open permanent staff positions available that may result from this volunteer opportunity.

Volunteer grant writers may be offered subsequent assignments after successfully completing the first grant application.
