The Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting the visual arts and culture in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking volunteer grant writers to identify and apply for prospective grants.
Although our preference would be to retain grant writers on an ongoing basis, we are also open to candidates who can commit to fulfilling at minimum one complete grant application on behalf of our organization.
Throughout the process, candidates must attend weekly meetings to report on their progress with the Executive Director and Director of Development.
Interested parties must be familiar with the grant-writing process, and should provide a resume, and writing samples. Applicants must have superior writing skills, time in their schedule to take the lead on at least one grant application, and the willingness to communicate and collaborate with other individuals on our team who may be working on parallel projects or applications.
Grants are extremely vital to nonprofits like ours, and we ask that interested candidates focus solely on this task, without any expectation that they will be involved in other aspects of Art Walk. The ability to follow-through, and to independently complete the grant application in a reasonable amount of time is crucial to this role.
This is a volunteer position, however some stipends may become available depending on the grant.
