tour in san diego

Lead hostel guests on a tour of one of San Diego's local attractions. Current tours include: Coronado, Barrio Logan, Downtown San Diego, Ocean Beach/Sunset Cliffs, and Balboa Park. More tours can be developed based on leader's interests.

Local volunteers offer a unique insider’s perspective to our hostel guests. By leading walking tours, volunteers create the opportunity for hostellers to learn more about the historical and cultural relevance of the area and have a one on one encounter with a local expert.

We can work with your schedule to schedule tours.

The benefits of volunteering with HI USA include:

Meet new people from all over the world, including travelers, staff, and fellow volunteers
Work to increase understanding and tolerance by helping people break down cultural barriers
Help travelers to the community have a great travel experience
Build skills in public speaking, foreign languages and intercultural communication
Participate in fun appreciation events for local volunteers
Receive personal and professional development opportunities
Earn HI USA membership and dorm overnights at HI USA hostels
