Interpretive Center

Docents are stationed at the Interpretive Center at the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. They provide assistance with the Center’s enriching activities, tours of the building, and general Reserve information to visitors.

The Interpretive Center is entirely run by the docents, so they're instrumental to help keep the Center open so the public can utilize this really cool resource. Plus they receive really fun perks like fieldtrips to private Conservancy properties normally off limits to the public. They also have the option to participate in our fun-filled school fieldtrips programs, leading groups of children through a rotation of environmental education stations.

Docents make their own schedules based on their personal availability. We ask docents to commit to at least one 3-hour shift per month.
