Small Mammal Volunteer needed on Thursdays from 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM
Interested in gaining experience or learning more about working in an AZA accredited zoo? Do you love wildlife? Would you like to learn more about the Southern Appalachian environment? This volunteer position could be a perfect fit for you!
Volunteer duties include, but are not limited to:
- Day to day cleaning of all fox, racoon, and otter habitats
- Weekly/Monthly full cleans of habitats
- Recording and logging of meals and cleans
- Cleaning and maintaining of behind-the-scenes areas
- Daily enrichment for small mammals
- Assist keeper in feeding
- Ability to follow direction(s) precisely
- Ability to listen and adhere to any and all instructions
- Record keeping as needed
- Assist other animal keepers, staff, interns and volunteers as needed
