Our ESOL (English as a Second Language) Class Assistant will volunteer under the direction of our inspiring and creative Adult Literacy staff to support Spanish speaking immigrant communities with their English language skill development in our Jackson Heights community center. The ESOL Class Assistant will assist our teachers with classroom administrative tasks and tutor students with specific learning needs.
Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. It is most important to us that participants have a strong desire to support and work with the immigrant community. Willingness to learn, great teamwork, communication skills, and an enthusiastic commitment to supporting immigrants will be required from all volunteers.
