Purpose of Position:
The multimedia volunteer position provides an active, hands-on opportunity in the field of multi-media production.

Responsibilities:
The intern will work closely with the volunteer/ outreach coodinator on a variety of projects
including:

  • Designing promotional flyers, postcards, invitations, etc.

  • Assisting with design and production of e-mail newsletter.

  • Learning content management system to assist with updating website.

  • Creating web graphics including digital display ads and promotional graphics.

  • Shooting photos at events and upload to Facebook and website.

    Commitment:
    Exact start and end dates are flexible and will be determined by the Volunteer Coordinator and the student. The position involves approximately 15 -20 hours a week.

    Qualifications:

  • Professional demeanor, solid organizational skills, good time management, ability to multi-task.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Should have completed at least two years of undergraduate study.

    Concentrations of study may include graphic/web design, communications, public relations or a related field Coursework in design, marketing, and communications preferred.

Description

Advocates at Project Hope provide intervention and prevention services, including individual and group supportive counseling, court advocacy, accompaniment, emergency assistance, information and referrals and educational programming for adults and children residing in New Kent, Charles City, King William and King and Queen Counties. There is no charge for these services and all information is confidential.
