Share your love of plants and the natural world by becoming a Tour Docent at the Oak Park Conservatory. New training dates have been added for March, 2020!
The Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory trains docents to provide group tours through the showrooms at the Conservatory. We provide tours to local schools, pre-k through grade 5 and also provide tours to adults. Additionally, we offer an interactive and sensory-driven Diverse Learner tour for young adults with learning, social and other limitations. If you enjoy learning about habitats and are willing to delve into the background and history of the Conservatory and would like to share this knowledge with small groups, this would be a good fit. If you are comfortable talking and interacting with small children, this would be a great fit! Most school tours happen in October and March through May during the school day. Adult tours are scheduled during special events and upon request.
Training sessions for new docents will take place on March 12 and 19, 2020 at 10am.
For more information or to RSVP for the upcoming training sessions, please contact Nancy Silver, Volunteer and Program Coordinator, via email at coordinator@fopcon.org or call 708.725.2460, ext. 2
