Can you help us by driving?
The City of Escondido is working on establishing a shuttle service for Second Sundays, when the Ranch House is open to the public. The service would allow visitors to avoid the long, uphill hike. The City is looking for a volunteer driver for this shuttle. Here are the requirements: 1. Be willing to become an official City volunteer (application, interview, physical, etc.). 2. Be willing to work the 2nd Sunday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (to allow time to pick up and drop off the van). 3. Be willing to obtain and maintain a valid Class B driver's license with passenger addendum. The City will pay all costs to obtain and renew. Description
The City of Escondido offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. These include camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, and boating, just to name a few. The City maintains a number of different facilities, including Lake Dixon, Lake Wohlford, Daley Ranch, and nine urban park facilities. Each facility provides users with a multitude of unique resources.
Volunteer opportunities include trail patrol (hike, bike and equestrian), litter abatement, trail maintenance as well as Docent opportunities to lead guided hikes and offer presentations. We are also currently seeking a driver for a shuttle van one Sunday each month, to bring visitors to and from the historic Daley Ranch House.
