A Brush with Kindness
Volunteers work together on a home in New Town.

Working on new construction sites, you'll be working alongside other volunteers, our homebuyers and staff. Groups of volunteers are led by an experienced Team Leader. Volunteers work on projects such as painting, landscaping, house wrap, vinyl siding, window install, caulking, laying sod, and pre-carpet and final punch. No experience required! Training will be provided on site.

Registration & Volunteer Waivers

All volunteers must register online before they arrive for their volunteer shift. (We can have as many as 40 volunteers on a given day - and registration goes much more smoothly when we are checking in rather than filling out.) A Minor Volunteer Waiver must be completed for anyone under 18 volunteering with your group. Volunteers must be 16 or older to be a HabiJax Volunteer.

What to Wear

Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots are required. Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty are strongly encouraged. Light colored, cotton clothing and a hat are recommended for the summer. Jewelry is not allowed, because it can get damaged or lost very easily.

What to Bring

HabiJax provides all of the materials needed for your volunteer day. We do provide water at all sites. But, because the heat index can exceed 100 degrees in the summer months are always a good time to bring along some additional water or snacks to keep cool and hydrated if you’re working outside.
