Have a direct impact on saving lives by being part of the team that helps manages our Foster Program. This is our biggest program, and as a Foster-based organization without a physical shelter, our Foster program is key to our ability to save animals and get them adopted.
Work with Fosters and just rescued animals to help get them ready for their fur-ever homes. Our Foster Case Managers work with a pre-determined number of fosters to help manage and monitor the medical, socialization and behavioral needs of our foster animals.
Foster Case Managers track and monitor vaccinations, surgeries, illnesses and other health issues and keep the Medical Lead informed. They check in regularly to make sure the animals are progressing socially and behaviorally. Case Managers also work with Fosters on personality write-ups and updated pics and videos for website and Social Media. We ask interested volunteers for a commitment of 6-12 months for this position.

Mission Statement
We are a foster-based, all-volunteer organization that saves and improves the lives of vulnerable animals by providing care and placing adoptable animals into loving forever homes.
Description
HSLC has been helping animals since our founding in 1966. HSLC has no paid staff nor a physical facility or shelter; all of our animals are in foster homes, display cages at local pet stores, or in temporary boarding until they are adopted into their furever homes.
Thanks to our volunteers and community support, HSLC helped thousands of animals in 2023:
- Nearly 200 cats and dogs fostered
- Over 200 community cats supported
- Nearly 6,000 animals fed via the Loudoun Pet Pantry
