The Volunteers of America Senior Meals Program is looking for Dining Room Volunteer Ambassadors at sites in Loveland and Fort Collins. Each ambassador will ensure that lunch is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere by welcoming new and returning guests, assisting new guests, and making announcements. Ambassadors will also ensure that fellow volunteers are oriented, have tasks, practice good customer service skills, and follow proper VOA protocol.
Key Responsibilities & Work Environment:
Including but not limited to -
- Environment
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ensure a warm, friendly environment where all participants feel welcome and appreciated
- Welcome new clients and act as an ambassador to introduce new clients to new groups of people
- Announce program and site updates to clients as needed
- Act as liaison between site and VOA
- Other Duties
- Fill in or assist volunteers as needed including:
- Kitchen Duties: Take/record temperatures, plate meals, prepare drinks
- Dining Room Duties: Paperwork, place settings, cleaning, serve food/drinks
- Fill in or assist volunteers as needed including:
Qualifications:
- Willingness to take on the responsibility of overseeing mealtimes and guiding other volunteers.
- Friendly and caring personality.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance from peers.
- Successful completion of a background check, application, and interview.
- Availability over the lunch hour (11am-1pm).
- Ability to multitask and adjust to changes in procedures.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Normal physical mobility and strength to handle routine office and kitchen materials and tools, dexterity of hands and fingers, coordination, and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
