Mission Statement

We provide free, emergency clothing to individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship or crisis.

Description

Sharia's Closet is a small but mighty non-profit providing clothing for individuals and families in all throughout San Diego County who are facing financial hardship or crisis. We provide personalized empowerment in the form of new/gently used clothing for people who are victims of domestic violence, natural disasters, and human trafficking as well as unsheltered /homeless, unemployed. We know proper clothing helps people maintain a sense of dignity and self-esteem in times of insecurity.

The impact of Sharia's Closet: Since starting this personal movement to provide relief to our community members that are experiencing clothing insecurities. Since 2013, we have distributed over 33,000 customized clothing bags at no cost to children and adults. We hear stories of how our clothing care packages have helped parents confidently find jobs and send their children to school with clean and well-fitting clothing.

We live by our vision and values. The vision of Sharia's Closet is to empower people of our community with clothes to promote self-esteem and self-identity. We believe in dignity and respect. We honor people by providing them with the care, concern, and consideration they deserve. We know people deserve to feel valued and be treated ethically. We value quality and personalization, knowing everyone is different and deserves to be treated as an individual.
