Shoe drive

We are looking for a few passionate animal lovers to help us conduct a shoe drive. Are you willing to help us spread the word to your neighbors, schools, churches, and other places?

Please help us by collecting shoes from your family, neighbors, friends, and other interested people in your community, and deliver the shoes to one of our many drop off locations in norther Illinois or southwestern Wisconsin listed on our website.

We can accept any footwear for adults or kids (except skates), as long as they are in pairs and are in new or gently used condition. Donations can include:

  • gym shoes
  • dress shoes/heels
  • work or fashion boots
  • sandals/flip flops
  • dance shoes
  • slippers

Our organization will receive money to support our adoption program for retired racing greyhounds, and the shoes will be sent to partners in developing countries to support micro-business program that allow graduates to start their own small businesses.

Mission Statement

4 Greyhound Racers is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding caring, committed homes for retired racing greyhounds. We serve northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin.

Description

We are an all-volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding caring, committed homes for retired racing greyhounds. We promote greyhound adoption by providing information to the public on what wonderful pets these retired athletes make. 4 Greyhound Racers serves the northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin areas.

4 Greyhound Racers is a foster-based adoption program. While waiting for their "happy ever after", our hounds are in a foster home, learning the basics of how to be a pet. Our foster families have cats, small dogs, children and work hours. They live in apartments, townhouses, single family homes and farms. Our foster families are the heart and soul of our adoption group - and truly, what sets us apart.
