The Girls on the Run Austin Fall 5k draws runners from elementary and middle schools throughout Central Texas. Please join us as we celebrate a season of hard work and training, as nearly 200 girls hop, skip and run across the finish line. Girls on the Run empowers girls in 3rd through 8th grade through an interactive curriculum which creatively integrates running. Finishing the Fall 5k shows our girls that even the seemingly impossible IS possible with hard work.
Volunteers are needed for the following:
Course Monitors
Packet Pick-Up and Shirt
Set-Up and Take-Down
Happy Hair Table
Hospitality

Description
Girls on the Run is an after school program that uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Through interactive activities such as running, playing games, and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being girls. The program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health. During the 12 week program, girls are empowered with a greater self-awareness, sense of achievement and a foundations in team building to help them become strong, contented and self-confident women.
