Interviewer & Writer Needed

We're looking for creative writers with excellent interviewing skills to create short biographies of our clients. These bios are used on our website (see here: https://www.guidingeyes.org/28877/may-2016-graduating-class/) and for other PR purposes.

You must be able to travel to our Yorktown Heights and White Plains locations once a month to conduct face-to-face interviews of our clients as well as conducting some phone interviews. You should possess sensitivity, curiosity and a genuine ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Your writing should be able to communicate the impact that having a guide dog makes on the life of a person who is blind or visually impaired.

Total volunteer time is about 20 hours within a two week period including a tight turnaround time in processing the completed bios so that they are ready for our monthly graduation ceremonies.

For more information please contact Vikki Iwanicki, Manager of Volunteer Services at viwanicki@guidingeyes.org or 845 230 6412.
