Starting in January 2017, Eugene Public Library will offer a number of new, free activities for children, families, and teens. These events are being added to the calendar as part of an overall expansion of services supported by levy funding approved by Eugene voters.
These fun, educational activities will also provide new volunteer opportunities for community members. Youth event volunteers support Library staff by helping to set up the room, greet participants, assist staff and participants during the activity, and help clean up. While each event involves some specific needs, in general, volunteers need to: be 21 or older; have some experience with the relevant age group; find it easy to connect with a wide variety of people; be flexible, patient, and welcoming.
Volunteers attend a one-time orientation session and receive ongoing support and supervision from Library staff.
