OUTREACH VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR HELEN KELLER SERVICES FOR THE BLIND

Helen Keller Services for the Blind (HKSB) employs and trains legally blind individuals with various barriers to employment as Assemblers to produce a catalog of products as part of the Helen Keller Gifts program. Position:

Helen Keller Gifts Business Development & Outreach Volunteer

Responsibilities

The Volunteer will act as an assistant to support the Adult Placement Services Department in its efforts to grow and expand the Helen Keller Gifts program/enterprise. The volunteer will work in conjunction with the HKSB staff on ad hoc projects that support the goals of the department. Tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Cold calling
• Internet research
• Business writing for e-mail or mailing correspondence
• Independent local travel-Public transportation cost will be covered.

The volunteer’s efforts will contribute toward:

• New Business Development
• Promotions/Sales
• Business Partnership Development

Skills needed:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate MS Word( letter/flyer creation), Basic MS Excel (call logs, contact lists)
• Excellent research and internet navigation abilities
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Seeking a motivated, imaginative and POSITIVE person
