The holidays are tough for the homeless youth we serve, whether they're all of 24 years old or as young as 12. It's a time for family, maybe the time for family-but, instead of bringing simple joys, this season tears these kids apart. YouthCare strives to brighten their holiday by providing them with not only the basic supplies, but also with something they would really enjoy.

Each year, we work with various businesses and individuals to host drives and holiday giving campaigns for the youth we serve. We've gathered the needs and wishes from the youth and the housing programs, and we have found the need even greater than last year-from coats to backpacks to holiday wishes like new shoes and headphones. Find more information at youthcare.org/holidaygiving.

Needs and Wishes:
Gift cards (Target, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Payless, etc)
New underwear and new socks
Sleeping bags

Thank you for your support!

Mission Statement

YouthCare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training.

Description

Founded in 1974, YouthCare was the first shelter for homeless youth in the Western United States and continues to be a leader in providing services to this vulnerable population. Beginning as a three-bed shelter for runaways, YouthCare has grown and expanded to become a community-based agency with six sites serving the greater Seattle area.

Today, YouthCare’s services range from street outreach and residential housing to education and employment training.
