Own a truck and able to lend a hand for an afternoon? A disabled senior woman in the Mukilteo area is in need of someone to help haul away some yard debris to a nearby (approx. 15 minutes away) transfer station.

Unfortunately, she has no family nearby able to assist her. She will pay for disposal fees and the volunteer is eligible for mileage reimbursement through VCS.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to help who has a busy schedule as it's a one time request! Many thanks!

Mission Statement

Join us today! Interact and engage with isolated individuals by assisting with household tasks or by providing transportation for those who are unable to drive themselves to medical appointments or errands. Work individually or with others to assist someone in need with larger, one-day projects. Volunteer Services of Snohomish County assisted over 350 individuals in 2014 by providing over 18,000 hours in volunteer work. "You are helping me to be independent and to be able to stay in my home - what a blessing that is." -- Mary, current client

Description

Volunteer Chore Services (VCS) began in 1981 as a grassroots response to State-wide budget cuts that left 4,000 elders without chore services. Over the years VCS has proven itself to be a cost-effective safety net for those who do not qualify for the State's assistance and cannot afford to purchase services.

Volunteers opportunities such as housework, laundry, transportation, shopping and similar independent living requests enable clients to remain in their homes with dignity and a sense of belonging to their community.
