Mission Statement

The mission of Boys Hope Girls Hope is to help academically capable and motivated children-in-need to reach their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered homes, opportunities, and education through college.

Description

Hope College Centers delivers services with North Star High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Partners were identified as having strategic goals that are synergistic with the planned outcomes of Hope College Center.

The Center provides an academically oriented program that focuses on intellectual development leading to educational success. In consideration of the full spectrum of human growth, the service model also includes attention to physical, social and emotional competencies that support achievement grade-to-grade through college, and into family-sustaining careers and productive adulthood.

The Boys Hope Girls Hope program model has proven successful. Since 1991, 100% of Boys Hope Girls Hope graduates in 15 U.S. cities have gone on to college. As of 2014, 94% of Boys Hope Girls Hope collegians nationwide remain enrolled in college each year, and 86% continue their studies to degree completion. By contrast, the national average of collegians with similar demographic backgrounds who will successfully complete college is below 45%. With a proven ability to impact student outcomes, Boys Hope Girls Hope’s "College Road" program was recognized by the Educational Policy Institute in 2012 as one of the top ten college support programs for disadvantaged youth in the United States.
