Join Return of the Natives, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Caifornia State Parks for a native species planting at Monterey State Beach! This is a critical habitat for the threatened Western Snowy Plover species, and we need YOUR help!
Earn community service hours and spend a morning on the dunes!
Directions: Monterey State Beach, Monterey, CA, where Canyon Del Rey Blvd. hits the beach. Near Monterey Tides hotel at 2600 Sand Dunes Dr. Look for R.O.N. Event signs.

Description
Return of the Natives is an environmental education program dedicated to involving students (Kindergarten through University) and local communities in habitat restoration.
The Return of the Natives Restoration Education Project (RON) is the education and outreach branch of The Watershed Institute at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). Based at CSUMB, RON helps the university fulfill its mission by providing service opportunities for students and working closely with the Service Learning Institute.
RON's environmental goal is to protect the waters of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary through restoration of the waterways and the lands draining into the bay. RON's social goal is to bring people and nature together on our restoration and education projects in the watersheds of Monterey County from the Monterey Peninsula to North Monterey County and from Salinas to San Ardo.
